Insect: Worms
Silkworms are excellent insects for feeding your animals. It's very low in fat, has a good protein content and contains many vitamins and minerals. It is therefore useful as a staple food and as a snack.
Storage:
It can be kept from a few days to 3 weeks, depending on its size at the time of purchase and the ambient temperature. They eat and grow continuously and should be kept at a minimum of 18 degrees celcius. The warmer it is, the faster they grow. These worms are highly sensitive to bacteria. So wash your hands before handling them.
Food: They only eat white mulberry leaves or commercial Repashy-style silkworm food. It's hard to keep them alive for more than a few days if you don't have this food. We'll have Repashy for silkworms soon.
