Live discoid cockroaches from our breeding program. Currently, cockroaches have a certain purchase cost, so it is advisable to buy them for breeding purposes rather than for immediate feeding. Insects are highly nutritious and ideal as a staple food.

Here is what we use and recommend. A fairly tall container, like the ones you can buy at Walmart. We cut a large opening in the mesh to install a wire mesh. Cockroaches cannot fly or climb plastic walls. They need a temperature of 32 to 40 degrees Celsius to reproduce optimally. You can use a reptile heating pad placed under the container. What we use for heat is a lamp with a ceramic heating bulb. This makes it easier to control the temperature. We do not recommend using a heat lamp, as we have personally noticed that continuous light disrupts their cycle and greatly hinders their growth and reproduction rates. Be sure to feed them protein-rich food (there are several types of cockroach or cricket food that you can turn into gel. We sell Repashy for insects, which works well). Give them vegetables regularly for vitamins and hydration. Spray regularly to maintain humidity between 40 and 60%. We recommend using at least 3 inches of coconut peat or sphagnum peat substrate to better retain humidity. The babies will hide in it, which will save you from having to separate them by size. Keep the substrate slightly moist. Place egg cartons on top, as the adults live in them.
